We don’t really think twice about it when we use these items from daily life, but honestly, life without these would be impossible. And we’re really grateful to the people who invented these for making life a whole lot easier.
Seriously imagine life without soap for one moment. Hygiene apart, you might have still been using ash to scrub those utensils, and barks of trees for your body and face. And God forbid, if you were allergic to those barks or the smell of ash. Imagine your plight. This is one invention we are really, really grateful for. Yes, we do know that the chemicals in these are harming the environment but hey, there are tons of “organic” options too!
If not for these, there would be people peering up and down at things all the time! And we shudder to even think of the accidents that poor eyesight might have caused. Imagine having to balance a magnifying glass, the steering wheel, and gears at the same time! Although in retrospect, there might have been fewer people on the roads and lesser pollution. But you’ve got to admit, life without spectacles would be hilariously painful.
As an Indian you know that many of your brethren have never really appreciated the benefits of this simple but marvelous invention, but life without toilets would be ridiculous. Villagers still have their nice and green ‘ganna/chana khets’ to do the deed. But where would city folk go? Behind banyan trees?!
4. Cooked food
I should actually say ‘fire’ here, but let’s admit, cooked food is the best thing that ever happened to humanity. Though I am still confused about calling it a discovery or an invention, I’m gonna pass it off as an invention for the sheer amount of energy and creativity it takes for chefs to come up with mouth-watering delicacies. A life spent eating salads, raw meat and uncooked eggs? Yuck
Try spending an entire lifetime communicating in grunts. Just try
The simplest of gadgets, but life without a pen would have been just weird. Alternatively, we’d still be using mud and reeds we guess.
How would a girl ever comfort herself? HOW?!
There are nudist camps in the world and I understand that there are many who find it easier to live without any form of clothing. But the rest of the human population is honestly benefiting from the invention. If not for clothes, what would girls’ crib about half the time? And what would all our patriarchal idiots put the blame on for rapes?
9. Safety pins, U-Clips and any kind of pins
These have saved your day more than once and you just cannot thank the inventor of these enough.
Everything seems to be made out of it, right from your houses to your roads. And yet, you never really appreciate it. The invention of concrete truly changed the way the world looks. Sure, it made everything have a shorter shelf-life. And you miss your old stone houses with the oh-so-Victorian charm, but concrete did make the task of building easier and better.
Button down pants?! *shudders*
