The biggest event to hit the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the Avengers first assembled is right around the corner.
While several fans of the MCU have been distracted by the highly anticipated arrival of Marvel’s friendly neighborhoodWeb-Slinger, another iconic superhero has made his way to the MCU to join the super skirmish.
Prince T’Challa of Wakanda (Chadwick Boseman), better known as Black Panther, will be making his cinematic debut on the big screen during Steve Rogers third, and likely final, “solo” film, Captain America: Civil War, before appearing in his own solo shot at the silver screen.
Thanks to most of the upcoming movie’s trailers as well as some concept art that leaked a while back, audiences already know that Black Panther will be siding with genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist and cornerstone of theMCU, Tony Stark, meaning at some point the new hero will be going toe-to-toe with the Captain.
Team Iron Man
While earlier trailers have given fans a general idea of what T’Challa is capable of, the latest look at the movie finally gives audiences a closer look at the new hero squaring off against one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Steve Rogers.
Comic book fans are already well aware that Rogers’ greatest weapon/defense has something in common with Black Panther’s suit, and it looks like the cinematic version of Captain America (and the rest of his super squad) is going to find that out the hard way.
Captain America: Civil War is slated to hit theaters May 6.
