TV Show Scorecard: What’s Been Renewed, What’s Been Canceled

The networks introduced new TV shows for the Fall at this year’s up fronts, while other TV shows have been having their season finales. Thus, renewals and cancellations are being announced for next season. Here are the series that will be back for the 2015-2016 season — plus the shows that are not so lucky (you can also see everything that’s been canceled here).

What’s Been Renewed

ABC

  • How to Get Away With Murder: Shonda Rhimes’s drama has been renewed after one killer season.
  • Secrets and Lies: The freshman drama series will be back for a second season.
  • Fresh Off the Boat: The comedy will return for a second season.
  • American Crime: The midseason drama is going to be back.
  • Galavant: The show will return for a second season.
  • Marvel’s Agent Carter: A second season is on the way.
  • Nashville: The soapy drama is returning for a fourth season.
  • Castle: Nathan Fillion’s crime procedural will return for an eighth season.
  • Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: The superhero show has been greenlit for a third season.
  • Once Upon a Time: The fantasy series will return with season five.
  • Grey’s Anatomy: The medical drama has been granted a whopping 12th season.
  • Scandal: Rhimes’s political thriller will return with season five.
  • The Goldbergs: The comedy is getting a third season.
  • Modern Family: Of course, the comedy has been renewed for season seven.
  • The Middle: This is also getting a seventh season.
  • The Bachelor: The reality hit will get a 20th season.
  • America’s Funniest Home Videos: The classic show will be back for a 26th season.
  • Shark Tank: The business show will return for a seventh season.
  • Beyond the Tank: A second season of the companion series has been ordered.
  • Dancing With the Stars: A 21st season is on the way.
  • 20/20: The investigative show will be back again.
  • Last Man Standing: The Tim Allen sitcom will be back for another season.

NBC

  • The Blacklist: The James Spader hit is coming back for season three.
  • Chicago Fire: The drama is coming back next season.
  • Chicago PD: The new spinoff will get a third season.
  • Law & Order: SVU: The procedural is getting a 17th season.
  • Grimm: The supernatural series will back for a fifth season.

The CW

  • Jane the Virgin: The Golden Globe-nominated series will be back for season two.
  • The Vampire Diaries: The series is getting a seventh season.
  • The Flash: The freshman show will get a season two.
  • The 100: The series will get a third season.
  • Reign: The drama will come back for season three.
  • The Originals: The supernatural series is getting a third season.
  • Arrow: The superhero show is coming back for season four.
  • Supernatural: It’ll be season 11 for this long-running show.
  • iZombie: The freshman series will be back for season two.

CBS

  • Madam Secretary: This freshman show will get a second season.
  • Scorpion: This series will also be back for season two.
  • NCIS: New Orleans: The spinoff is also getting a second season.
  • Mom: The sitcom will be back for a third season.
  • Mike & Molly: The Melissa McCarthy comedy will see season six.
  • 2 Broke Girls: The comedy will return for season five.
  • CSI: Cyber: The spinoff has been renewed for second season.
  • NCIS: The procedural has been picked up.
  • Blue Bloods: The Tom Selleck drama will be back.

  • Empire: The midseason hit will get a second season.
  • Gotham: The freshman series is getting a second season.
  • Sleepy Hollow: The spooky series will return for a third season.
  • New Girl: The comedy will be back with a fifth season.
  • The Last Man on Earth: Will Forte’s apocalypse comedy has gotten a second-season order.
  • The Simpsons: The animated show has been picked up for two more seasons.
  • Bones: The long-running procedural will back for an 11th season.

FX

  • The Americans: The spy drama has been renewed for season four.
  • American Horror Story: The creepy show will be back for another season.

The History Channel

  • Vikings: The cable drama will be back for season four.

Netflix

  • Bloodline: The freshman series has been renewed for season two.
  • House of Cards: The political drama scored a fourth season.
  • Orange Is the New Black: The prison comedy will return for a fourth season.
  • Daredevil: The Marvel series will be back for season two.

HBO

  • Veep: The comedy has been renewed by HBO.
  • Silicon Valley: The tech show has also been renewed.

Showtime

  • House of Lies: The cable comedy will be back for season five.

BBC

  • Orphan Black: The sci-fi drama has been renewed for a fourth season.

What’s Been Canceled

NBC

  • Constantine: The freshman series has been canceled.
  • State of Affairs: Katherine Heigl’s political drama was canceled after one season.
  • Marry Me: The first-season comedy has been canceled.
  • About a Boy: The comedy will not return for another season.
  • One Big Happy: The midseason comedy has been axed.

The CW

  • Hart of Dixie: The show has been canceled after four seasons.
  • The Messengers: The CW’s drama only lasted a few episodes before cancellation.

ABC

  • Revenge: ABC canceled the show after four seasons.
  • Cristela: The freshman comedy has been canceled.
  • Resurrection: The sci-fi drama is over after two seasons.
  • Forever: Ioan Gruffudd’s drama is done after one season.
  • The Taste: After three seasons, ABC is finished with the cooking reality show.

HBO

  • Looking: The San Francisco-set drama has been canceled after two seasons.

Fox

  • American Idol: The singing competition show will end after season 15 in 2016.
  • The Mindy Project: Mindy Kaling’s show is ending its run on Fox after three seasons but may be moving to Hulu.
  • The Following: Fox has canceled the Kevin Bacon drama after three seasons.
  • Backstrom: The freshman drama will not come back.

CBS

  • Battle Creek: Vince Gilligan’s freshman comedy is gone.
  • The McCarthys: The family sitcom has been axed after one season.
  • Stalker: The Maggie Q thriller has been canceled after one season.
  • CSI: The long-running procedural is wrapping up after it gets one last season (its 15th!).
